Kwadacha Nation

Kwadacha Nation is in the Rocky Mountain Trench of northeastern BC in a valley formed

by the eastern and central ranges of the Rocky Mountains. 


  • Kwadacha is accessible by a logging road from Mackenzie or KNCA Flying Services in Prince George.​

  • Facilities in Kwadacha include a Health Clinic overlooking the Finlay River, recreation centre, hockey rink, Aatse Davie School for grades K-12, general store, daycare center and visitor accommodations.

  • Kwadacha has a Chief, Deputy Chief and three Councillors.

  • Kwadacha members are employed seasonally in resource industries, as well as in administration, education, and service-oriented work. Some members continue to maintain traplines in their traditional territory.

  • Kwadacha is a member of the Kaska Dene Council, an organization formed in 1981 to advance the interests of Kaska communities in treaty negotiations. Other members include Dease River First Nation (Good Hope Lake, BC); Daylu Dena Council (Lower Post, BC); Liard First Nation (Watson Lake, Yukon), and Ross River Dena Council (Ross River, Yukon).
